On September 9, 2017, advertising and editorial photographer Diana Levine hosted a photography-inspired cocktail party benefiting the Michael J. Fox Foundation, raising more than $30,000 for Parkinson’s research. Photo Shoot for a Cure took place at District Hall in Boston’s Innovation District and featured photo shoots, makeovers by Sephora, James Joseph Salons and Polished Nail Boutique, a pop-up gallery from Following Boston, an instant photo booth from Leica Store Boston, art showcase from the Art Cart, appetizers, and more. The Silent Auction featured items from the Red Sox, Celtics, Johnny Cupcakes, Whole Foods Market, Hunt’s Photo & Video, and Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street, among others. Levine produces Photo Shoot for a Cure inspired by her mom’s diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease 12 years ago.
The party’s sponsors included Voyager Therapeutics, Acorda Therapeutics, District Hall, Acadia Pharmaceuticals, 2Sisters Senior Living Advisors, and Quincy Hearing. To stay up to date with the next Photo Shoot for a Cure party, visit photoshootforacure.com.
