UberHealth Is Bringing Flu Prevention to Your Doorstep
Uber is bringing flu prevention right to your doorstep.
On Thursday, Uber users can request delivery of a $10 “wellness pack”—stocked with supplies like tissues, hand sanitizer, and a reusable water bottle—through the app. Customers who buy the wellness pack will also have the option of requesting free flu shots for up to 10 people. (Don’t worry, they’ll be administered by a registered nurse.)
The service is part of the app’s second annual UberHealth initiative, a public health project advised by John Brownstein, director of the Computational Epidemiology Group at Boston Children’s Hospital. Not just limited to Boston, the program will run in 35 cities nationwide.
UberHealth will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, but be warned: Uber expects a high volume of requests, so receiving your wellness pack probably won’t be as quick and easy as calling a ride home.
