As General Electric readies to move its headquarters to Boston in August, CEO Jeff Immelt will start packing for Comm. Ave.
The executive and his wife are under contract to buy a four-bedroom townhouse along the iconic thoroughfare, according to the Boston Business Journal. Steps from the Public Garden, the condo at 36 Commonwealth was listed at $7,995,000 by Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty. The Journal notes that the price is almost double what it sold for in 2007.
One of two units in the building, the condo boasts a private deck, a wood-paneled library, and three fireplaces. There is one important question that has yet to be asked: will he keep the pink parlor walls?
