The Real Deal Shutters in Cleveland Circle
Cleveland Circle residents are going to have to find somewhere else to grab their guac-filled burgers: the Real Deal has shuttered its location there.
The Brighton deli officially closed on December 29, citing that the lease was up on the building. Rather than renew it, the team decided to focus efforts on their other locations in Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury. The Real Deal broke the news on Facebook just a day before calling it quits, adding that gift certificates will be honored at the remaining two delis.
With the restaurant’s absence comes a loss of loaded “monster” burgers, pizza by-the-slice, and seasonal specials. The Real Deal team did hint at some exciting news to come in 2017, but that’s about the only saving grace for local residents.
The burger joint dips out during an unfortunate time for the area. Boloco closed its storefront in the Circle earlier this year after 18 years in business, citing that the location had been losing money for around four years. And let’s not forget last year’s norovirus fiasco at Chipotle. At least the hub still has Jade Monkey and Eagles Deli.
