The Halal Guys Are Coming to Boston
UPDATE, August 30, 1 p.m.: The Halal Guys will open its first Boston location at City Place (137 Stuart St.) on September 15.
PREVIOUSLY:
The brains behind Americanized, street food-style chicken and beef gyro rice platters are expanding their territory into Boston and Cambridge. That’s right, you no longer need to be in New York City to experience the original American Halal food. The Halal Guys, with signatures like red hot and mild white sauces, baba ganouj, and more, will soon be a short trip away for Boston residents.
The first of the local locations is scheduled to open this summer at the City Place Building at 137 Stuart St. The company will continue its growth in the region with subsequent openings, including to-be-announced locations in the Financial District, the West End near the TD Garden, Back Bay, Downtown Crossing, and Porter Square in Cambridge. You can expect similar decor to the chain’s NYC restaurants.
The wildly popular restaurant group that originated in 1990 as a mobile stand on West 53rd Street and 6th Avenue is now developing about 200 restaurants worldwide, working with the franchise consulting firm Fransmart, Eater Boston has reported.
Additional expansion locations include California, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., and northern Virginia, Atlanta, Chicago, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Houston and Austin, Texas, as well as Canada, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia. Six of these locations have already opened in recent weeks.
Stay tuned to their Boston arrival with the Halal Guys’ new Boston Instagram and their Facebook page.
