Amy's Pie Picks

Cambridge 1

The Harvard Square favorite opened up a second location in the Fenway last year, giving fans twice their fill of fanciful combinations (lobster and corn, potato and fontina) atop a superflat grilled crust. Or, as we like to think of it, heaven on a cracker.

Emma’s Pizza

The superthin crust that flies out of Emma’s kitchen is addictive in its own right. Add to that such innovative combinations as Canadian bacon, caramelized onions, and rosemary sauce, or a scallion, garlic, and gorgonzola mix. The restaurant may have just changed hands, but nearly everything else about it has stayed the same—right down to the à la carte toppings (three kinds of tomatoes, sweet and gold potatoes, capers, even dried cranberries). Friendly service (the waiters offer detailed reheating instructions) rounds out the experience.

Galleria Umberto Rosticceria

This cafeteria-style, lunch-only spot serves up calzones, pizza and other Sicilian specialties. There are no toppings, but with such tangy tomato sauce, cheese, and a thick crust, you won’t miss them.
