W Boston

The W’s hip lobby.

Glassy and minimalist, the Theater District’s brand-new tower hotel caters to a young, modern crowd: The swanky lobby/lounge, with its high ceilings, luxurious loungers, water walls, and enormous art books scattered throughout, looks like a nightclub. Celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s upscale (and quieter) restaurant Market, which offers an eclectic global menu, is tucked in just behind the front desk. The 235-room hotel has 5,000 square feet of event space on the second floor, next to the full-service Bliss Spa.

The building’s sleek exterior.

Standout Features The W is serious about weddings—there’s a full-time planner on staff to help you navigate all the options, including food, décor, and guest-room reservations. Unlike the lobby below, the event space is sparsely appointed, with rooms that range from 360 to 2,500 square feet. It’s a blank canvas, ready for flowers, lights, linens, and a dance floor; in other words, this is a great venue for the creative bride who wants to design every last detail of her day. The W’s catering kitchen and banquet staff serve up a broad range of menu choices, such as porcini-rubbed prime tenderloin with organic quinoa, and lobster with white truffle gratin. Choose from the set packages, or customize your own.
