Style Stalker: Nantucket Jewelry

By Sarah Burns

Jessica Hicks was 16 years old when she started to craft and bead jewelry in her hometown of Worchester. Now, her Nantucket boutique called Posh houses a “pretty prolific” collection, says Hicks.

Her handmade metal designs recreate her island surroundings — unspoiled natural landscapes with shapes and patterns aplenty — and are as much a hit with the locals as for Hollywood celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Biel, and Halle Barry. The pieces cater to broad tastes, from frilly fleur-de-lis silver earrings to the popular oversized peace sign necklace. Additionally, she’s created an Autism collection, inspired by Hicks’s 7-year-old nephew diagnosed with the disorder when he was 2 years old, which features a puzzle piece design to spread Autism awareness.

Right now, Hicks is busy finishing up her newest holiday quote necklaces, which will be available the week after Thanksgiving.
