Real New England Weddings: Jenna Pegoraro & Chad Wagner
June 12, 2010
The Liberty Hotel
Boston Massachusetts
When Jenna Pegoraro met Chad Wagner through a mutual friend, she instantly felt a spark. But with more than 200 miles between them (Chad was a bond broker in New York City, while Jenna was an interior designer based in Hopkinton), it took a couple of months for them to agree to give the long-distance relationship a try. One year and dozens of train rides later, Jenna relocated to New York.
There was no question they’d return to the Hub for their nuptials. “We were both Bostonians stuck in New York City,” says Jenna. So after a Christmas-morning proposal in 2008, they set their sights northward. After exchanging vows at St. Stephen’s Church in the North End, they headed to the Liberty Hotel for their cocktail-style reception. “Choosing a location was the easiest decision,” says Jenna, who was sold from the moment she spied the hotel’s soaring atrium. Clearly, this is one bride who knows a good thing when she sees it.
Jenna’s bridesmaids carried pure-white bouquets.
After Chad slipped on Jenna’s wedding band, he reached into his pocket to reveal an identical band for Jenna as a surprise wedding gift. She now wears the bands on both sides of her engagement ring.
(From left, top to bottom) Yellow “roses” topped the modern three-tier cake.
The color palette was inspired by the blues and yellows of the Liberty Hotel’s ballroom.
In place of a formal sit-down dinner, Jenna and Chad opted for stations with sliders, fries, and pasta, as well as circulating trays of finger foods.
Thanks to a killer playlist, guests had no trouble hitting the dance floor.
