English is reportedly filing a reality show with E!, the network that brings you hours of Keeping Up with the Kardashians on Saturday afternoons. But the T.E. concept seems more in the way of E!’s long line-up of how/why did these people/this person bag a reality show? (see: Mrs. Eastwood & Co. and Married to Jonas). The show will focus on “managing his empire of restaurants along with his interesting and varied personal life,” but we’re pretty much over it. [Page Six]
Mitt Romney Picks Mass. Friend to Give Invocation. Kenneth Hutchins says he was “flabbergasted” when one of Romney’s sons asked him to deliver the prayer on Thursday night before Romney’s acceptance speech. Hutchins, who is 71 and battling cancer, is a former police chief in Northborough. [AP]
Farmers’ Almanac Predicts a Lot of Snow This Winter. The 2012 edition of the Farmers’ Almanac, everyone’s favorite year-long, newsprinty guide to gardening, weather, and astronomy, predicts that this is going to be an awfully snowy winter in New England. “We’re talking about some snow from December 1st to the 3rd, a fairly good storm in the middle of the month, snow three days before Christmas, and maybe snow on Christmas,” says Pete Geiger, editor and far-range weatherman. The Almanac did nail the “above normal temps” of last winter, though. [CBS]
