New Parking Reservation App Could Expand to Boston. Drivers can now reserve a space in one of more than 20,000 parking spots, thanks to Baltimore-based app Parking Panda. The app rolled out in Baltimore, Maryland, D.C., and San Francisco, with plans to expand to the Boston area in the coming months. “We do everything from the driveway behind your house, to school and church parking lots, all the way up to 10-story commercial parking garages,” Nick Miller, cofounder and CEO, told Reuters.  [Reuters]

Branson, a German Shepherd certified in patrol as well as explosives and ballistic detection, “beat out several other less attractive dogs” for a spot in the Massachusetts Vest-A-Dog calendar, according to the Boston Police Department. Vest-A-Dog is an organization that provides training, bulletproof vests, and other protective gear to police dogs, but only the handsome of the handsomest clinch a spot in the calendar, an annual fundraiser for the organization.  [BPD]
