Harvard Professors Shocked That David Petraeus Picked Self-Promoting Paula Broadwell for Biography. Unnamed Harvard professors had some scathing comments about Petraeus’s mistress, who switched her path for a doctorate at Harvard to King’s College London, where she now faces an ethical review. Among the complaints from Harvard Kennedy School of Government profs is that her failure to deliver on the biography was “deeply embarrassing” to the school, at least until the book became a New York Times bestseller. “It was very much, ‘I’m here and you’re going to know I’m here,'” one unnamed professor told the Globe. “She was not someone you would think of as a critical thinker. I don’t remember anything about her as a student. I remember her as a personality.” Another unnamed professor said this: “She was a lot of talk but not a lot of follow-through … That is why she brought on a co-author.” [Globe]
