What Are Healthy Food Choices at TD Garden?
Sporting events and concerts are not the best places to find healthy food. Nachos, hot dogs, soda, and beer usually rule the day. But recently, sports arenas and stadiums have started to incorporate food items that are healthier. Many even offer allergy-free foods. Even our beloved Fenway Park offers vegetarian, gluten-free, and low calorie items on its concourses.
At TD Garden, there’s full ingredient lists at all stands, which is a rarity in sports. And guests are encouraged to stop by the guest relations booth with any nutrition-related questions, according to TD Garden reps. Sportservice, which is the arena’s concessionaire, works with a variety of local vendors including Sal’s Pizza, Dunkin Donuts, Something Sweet Without Wheat (gluten-free desserts), and beverage favorites such as Sam Adams, Harpoon, Cisco Brewery, and Ipswich.
So this winter, when you want to check out an event at the TD Garden, here’s your guide to all things healthy:
‘Keep it Kosher’ (Section 4, Level 4): Provides a variety of delicious Kosher items including baked knish.
Gluten-free alcoholic beverages: Include Harpoon Cider, Strongbow Cider, Samuel Adams Cider, and Omission Beer.
‘Boston’ stand (Section 7 on Level 4): Serves turkey, chicken caesar, or buffalo chicken wraps, fresh fruit cups, veggie cups, and fresh tossed garden salads.
‘Back Bay Carvery’ stand (Sections 8 & 17 on Level 4, and Section 323 on Level 7): Serves fresh deli-sliced roasted turkey and thin-sliced roast beef sandwiches in addition to turkey, chicken caesar, or buffalo chicken wraps, fresh fruit cups, veggie cups, and fresh tossed garden salads. (As you know, sandwiches with white bread and meat are not super healthy, but considering the alternatives like processed cheese nachos and hamburgers, these options are certainly better for you.)
‘Sal’s Pizza’ stand (Section 7 & 17 on Level 4, and Sections 308 & 324 on Level 7): Serves a veggie slice. (OK, so pizza isn’t so healthy, but at least you’re getting your vegetables!)
At the The Premium Club, Levels 5 & 6:
- Banners Harbor View (restaurant): Classic Caesar with chicken or shrimp, grilled steak salad, farm-raised salmon, and fish tacos.
- Carvery: Freshly sliced turkey breast, and vegetable paninis.
Market Place: Fruit trays, vegetable trays, garden salad, cobb salad, grilled chicken Caesar salad, and grilled chicken Caesar wrap.
Club Grille: Serves a variety of gluten-free options.
In Seat Service: Garden salad, Sabra hummus, and vegetable stir fry.
