More than 3,000 works of original art will be on display for your eyes to feast upon at the 18th annual Boston International Fine Arts Show this weekend. Tickets include admission to three full days of cream-of-the-crop creations, as well as a show catalog and access to guest speakers and panels. Lined up for Saturday is Peter Trippi, editor-in-chief of Fine Arts Connoisseur, who will present a lecture on traveling like a fine art connoisseur.

Boston Book Print Ephemera Show
Your search for a vintage copy of Gone with the Wind is over. As a part of Boston Book Collector’s Weekend, the Boston Book Print Ephemera Show will showcase a classic collection of vintage books, memorabilia, photographs, prints, maps, and more. “Every year we find new non-collectors, or people who have never been to a rare book show, and they are quite enthralled with what they see,” says event producer Marvin Getman. “What we’re finding when we get new collectors, which generally means young people, is that they really enjoy it.” Hardcore antiquarian book lovers can marvel at the $1,000 to $10,000 books, and new collectors can purchase vintage reads for as little as $10.

Boston Comedy Festival Finals
Hundreds of comics made their way to the Boston Comedy Festival last week, and on Saturday, the top eight contenders will compete for the $10,000 prize. Prepare for many laughs, because event host and Boston Comedy Festival founder Jim McCue has been called “the best joke writer in America” by Jay Leno. For more than a decade, the festival has been bringing up-and-coming stand up comedians to Boston. The festival’s objectives, among many, include exposing audiences to work they might not otherwise see and fostering a sense of community among a national network of performers.

The healthy living extravaganza will showcase holistic and fair-trade products, and hold more than 75 lectures, workshops, and cooking demos. “This is the place where you can come to learn about alternative health and holistic medicine,” said Michella Bedrosian, the event’s producer. “If you’re curious about things like Reiki or acupuncture, you can meet a variety of professionals and practitioners to learn about healing modalities and find out what’s best for you here.”
