Tasty Harvard-Yale Food Specials Around Harvard Square

Shake Shack

Shake Shack in Harvard Square will host its first-ever Shack Tailgate in honor of “The Game.” Starting at 10 a.m. and running throughout the day, Shake Shack will launch a “pop-up Shack” at the corner of Winthrop and John F. Kennedy Streets in Harvard Square, grilling up flat-top hot dogs and selling boxes of 10 Shackburgers for $55. Hot dogs and to-go burger boxes are cash only. Shake Shack will also be giving away free swag and food samples throughout the day at their Harvard Square brick and mortar.

The Sinclair

The Sinclair is closing up yet another patio season with a fall tailgate in honor of the Harvard vs. Yale game. On Friday, November 21 at 5 p.m., chef Keenan Langlois will be whipping up a special tailgating menu with sliders, barbecue roasted brussels sprouts, onion dip with potato chips, chili with tortilla chips, and pigs in a blanket with Narragansett cheese dip.

Alden & Harlow

Chef Michael Scelfo wants in on this Cambridge’s biennial celebration, so he’s opening Alden & Harlow at 11 a.m. The game will be blasted on all the televisions and Scelfo will be serving a limited menu with game-day-inspired “Secret Burgers,” dips, cocktails, and other lunch specials.

Russell House Tavern

In the spirit of friendly competition, Russell House Tavern will offer a $1 late night oyster showdown that pits Island Creeks (Harvard) against Blue Points (Yale). Whatever bivalve enjoys the best overall sales will reign victorious and be announced via social media on Sunday. The oyster special will run Friday (11/21) and Saturday (11/22) from 11 p.m. until close.

Tasty Burger

In addition to the all-day party at the Tasty Burger in Harvard Square, the restaurant’s burger of the day will be dedicated to the Crimson. The “Harvard Yard” includes Tasty’s signature seared patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Tasty Sauce, all on a potato roll.
