New England Aquarium Volunteer Sings Parody of ‘Let It Go’ from Frozen

While the public might still be recovering from Idina Menzel’s “Let It Go” from the Disney movie Frozen, New England Aquarium volunteer Lauren Mack has created a parody that won’t irritate the heck out of you.

Mack’s rendition is called “H2O,” and in the music video—made before hours at the NEAQ (watch above)—she takes us on a fun behind-the-scenes tour of the aquarium while expressing her passion for the ocean.

Lyrics include:

H2O, H2O, it’s the basis of life on Earth. H2O, H2O, it’s a resource with so much worth!

and

Here I stand at the G.O.T. [Giant Ocean Tank]… With my wet suit on—the water never bothered me anyway.

The best part might be after the credits. With “Coming Soon” written on the screen, she sings to a couple team members, to the tune of “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”:

Do you want to do a whale watch?

Mack, who started at New England Aquarium as an intern, now spends her Saturdays volunteering as a scuba diver in the Giant Ocean Tank, according to a press release. To create “H2O,” the 23-year-old Cohasset native borrowed equipment from her employer, LaunchPad Media in Watertown, and employed the help of fellow team members at the aquarium.

Mack also recently made the NEAQ’s 2015 Boston Marathon team and hopes that this video helps with fundraising. Her goal is $5,000; you can show your support here.
