After only two months of service, chef-partner Michael Serpa is changing up his lunch menu at Select Oyster Bar, the new Mediterranean-leaning seafood spot in Back Bay. Although Serpa seems to be honing in on lighter, more traditional offerings (think sandwiches, salads, and soups), these aren’t your typical lunch-rush standbys. Mundane, mayo-slathered egg salad is transformed into an stunning spring showcase: sunny-side up eggs flanked with fresh favas, asparagus, smoked trout, and a dollop of caviar. Even the classic lobster roll, something the chef insisted he wanted to abstain from making, is augmented with chewy ciabatta, avocado salad, and a roasted tomato aioli.

In addition to all the new dishes, Select will now be offering reservations for parties of eight or more at lunch and dinner. Lunch is served daily from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Unfortunately, the restaurant still isn’t accepting take-out orders.
