What Dr. George King Eats to Start the Day
We don’t need to tell you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. In this series, we’re asking some of Boston’s top doctors, fitness pros, and dietitians for a sneak peek into their kitchens, so we can see what’s on their breakfast table.
Dr. George King
Claim to fame: King is the chief scientific officer at Joslin Diabetes Center.
What he ate: A whole wheat bagel, orange slices, and smoked salmon.
Why he chose it: “I enjoy these fruits, smoked salmon, and good quality breads and bagels. They contain large amounts of fiber, carbohydrates, proteins, and [are] low fat,” King says. “They’re filling for the whole day, even if I am too busy and don’t have time for lunch. The amount may sound like a lot, but I exercise in the morning and start my work around 5:30 or 6 a.m.”
