Concepts and New Balance Unveil Red Sox-Yankees Rivalry Shoes

UPDATED, April 12, 4:45 p.m.: Concepts has announced that online sales of both shoes will now begin Friday, April 15 at noon.
If a Red Sox cap isn’t your style, there’s now a slightly subtler way to support your team.
Concepts and New Balance just released the “City Rivalry Pack,” a limited-edition shoe release that embodies the classic Red Sox-Yankees feud. This means you can now officially sport team gear from head to toe.
The Boston shoes’ red and green suede are inspired by the rusty red clay of the infield and Yawkey Way’s iconic green facades, keeping you perfectly coordinated with Fenway. Call it Green Monster chic.
The Yankees shoes, on the other hand, pay tribute to the franchise’s logo, which originally appeared on a medal of bravery designed by Tiffany & Co. Buy them for a New York-dwelling friend, burn them in effigy, whatever. We won’t judge.
The Red Sox shoes will be sold for $220. You can buy them online starting April 16, or at Concepts’ Cambridge store and Yawkey Way pop-up (at ’47 Sports) starting April 11. The Yankees shoes, meanwhile, cost $240 and will be available online and at Concepts’ New York store starting April 9.
The Red Sox sneakers are the clear choice in our book, but, then again, we are a little biased.
