This Is What TJ Taormina Eats for Breakfast
We don’t need to tell you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. In this series, we ask local notables for a sneak peek at how they start the day.
TJ Taormina
Claim to fame: As host of the TJ Show on 103.3, Taormina’s upbeat personality is pumped across Boston’s airwaves from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. every weekday morning.
What he ate: An apple, a banana, and a single fried egg placed on top of a slice of When Pigs Fly cinnamon raisin bread.
Why he chose it: Taormina is a creature of routine when it comes to breakfast—which makes sense, given that he has to wake up at 4 a.m. to be in the studio on time. He eats his banana while his egg is frying. “I used to work in a deli,” he says. “So the one thing I really know how to do in the kitchen is make an egg sandwich.” When the egg is cooked to his liking, he throws it on the cinnamon raisin bread, folds it in half to make a mini-sandwich, and polishes it off as he heads out his front door. On his drive to the studio, he chows the apple. “Quick and easy,” he says.
