Aly Raisman Hugs Beyoncé, Snaps Selfie with Kim Kardashian West at the MTV VMAs
The U.S. women’s gymnastics team’s victory tour continued at this weekend’s 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.
Fresh off their amazing performances at the Rio Olympics, Aly Raisman and her “Final Five” crew rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest names in music on Sunday night, including the queen herself, Beyoncé.
Raisman, along with Simone Biles, Madison Kocian, and Laurie Hernandez, got the chance to present the nominations for this year’s Best Female Video. Unfortunately, Gabby Douglas missed out on the fun due to a recent stint in the hospital.
During the introduction, the Needham native praised nominees Adele, Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Sia for being “at the top of their game” and for serving as inspirations to young women across the world.
“They are role models to us,” Raisman said. “We hope to be the same to the younger generation of women.”
Beyoncé, who ended up winning the award for her video “Hold Up,” is apparently a fan of Raisman and company as she gave the Olympians huge hugs after accepting the honor.
