Photos and videos emerged late Tuesday afternoon of a fire on a roof in the South End.
The Boston Fire Department tweeted from its official account that the blaze began at 73 Rutland Street. There were no injuries to report. By around 4 p.m., the “heavy fire” had been “knocked down.”
Heavy fire knocked down. No reported injuries at this time. Extensive overhauling. Checking for hot spots.

It was not immediately clear what caused it, but fire officials shared photos of a propane tank with one valve “broken off.”

Videos captured near the scene showed a large fire raging on top of the building’s roof.
