Boston Fire Truck Crashes in Back Bay

Several people were injured and multiple parked cars were damaged Monday after a Boston Fire truck crash in Boston’s Bay Bay.
Four firefighters aboard the truck and one other person were taken to hospitals after the crash, which happened at about 11:30 a.m. Their injuries are not life-threatening, officials say.
Photos posted online show cars sustained extensive damage in the crash, and officials say as many as nine vehicles may have been impacted.
The engine had been traveling on Commonwealth Avenue on the way to reports of smoke in a Boylston Street building when it collided with a car crossing at the Dartmouth Street intersection, the fire department wrote in a series of tweets from its official Twitter account. The truck, which had its lights and sirens activated at the time, swerved and smashed into a row of parked, unoccupied cars, according to the department.
Police are investigating the crash.
