Devin McCourty Won’t Visit Donald Trump’s White House Either
Another Patriots star will skip the team’s visit to the White House.
Fresh off an electrifying win at Super Bowl LI in Houston, safety Devin McCourty said he “can’t imagine a way” he meets with President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C.
“I’m not going to the White House,” McCourty texted Time magazine from the team bus. “Basic reason for me is I don’t feel accepted in the White House. With the president having so many strong opinions and prejudices I believe certain people might feel accepted there while others won’t.”
McCourty joins teammate Martellus Bennett, who said he would boycott the trip before the Super Bowl, explaining, “I don’t support the guy that’s in the house.”
Patriots TE Martellus Bennett said he will not go to the White House to honor Super Bowl win. Not worried about what his owner thinks.

Bennett on political views differing: "You just don't bring that to work. We all have our beliefs. We accept people for who they are."

Is Bennett worried about upsetting Kraft by not going to White House?: "I'm not really worried about that. I'm not worried about it at all.

Bennett said he isn’t worried that Patriots owner Bob Kraft is close friends with Trump, as are the coquettish Bill Belichick and Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady. He and McCourty raised their fists in protest after the National Anthem earlier this season to show solidarity with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, whose silent kneeling during the anthem became a controversial topic.
