Harvard Medical School (HMS) is adding yet another trophy to its case. U.S. News & World Report again ranked HMS the best research medical school in the country, an honor it also won last year and many times before that.

When it comes to specialties, the dominant institution ranked first in drug and alcohol abuse and women’s health; second in geriatrics and pediatrics; and third in internal medicine.

Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) claimed 30th on the research medical schools list.

U.S. News ranks medical schools’ primary care performance separately. On that list, Harvard (16th) was edged out by UMass Medical School, which took 14th. BUSM ranked 34th in primary care.

The rankings are based on a slew of data points, from peer and residency director assessments to selectivity. Research- and primary care-specific measures are also included in their respective ratings.

Overall, the Harvard graduate school system had a very, very good day. In addition to its medical schools win, the Crimson took first for business schools and third for law schools.
