Either-Or: A New Hampshire Estate vs. a Cambridge Loft
It’s amazing what a few miles will do to the market. This month, we compare a sprawling property in the Granite State’s capital with a recently sold condo near Lechmere Station.

Finding your dream home doesn’t happen overnight. In the case of this almost-30-acre estate in New Hampshire, it took more than a year for the right buyers to come along (much to their advantage—the property eventually closed at $70,000 under the initial asking price). Stretching to more than 6,000 square feet, the house offers its new owners a dining room with custom paneling and a built-in wet bar, as well as a sunroom where light streams in from skylights and sliding glass doors.
In Cambridge, of course, homes don’t typically sit for long, and this luxe loft, which also sold for $660,000, was no exception. Eight times smaller than the Concord abode, the condo makes the best use of its 752 square feet with a sleek glass staircase leading to a lofted bedroom and soaring ceilings that give the illusion of space. And instead of acres of farmland outside, the city is the new occupants’ playground, with a coveted off-street parking spot and proximity to Lechmere Station for a stress-free commute.
