Run AMOC! Festival

The American Modern Opera Company wants to give opera a new meaning. This festival celebrates the debut of AMOC, a collective of singers, dancers, instrumentalists, a director, and a composer that aims to change the way opera is produced to expand its reach. The festival will include an exploration of the connections between sound and body, a music-theater meditation on the victims of police brutality, and more. But don’t miss the duets staged as duels.

$25+, through Monday, various locations, Cambridge, americanrepertorytheater.org

Podcast
Up and Vanished Live

Become a detective for a night as you hear the podcast that explores an 11-year old mystery that has the largest case file in Georgia’s history. Former beauty queen and high school teacher Tara Grinstead disappeared after leaving a neighbor’s barbecue in 2005 and was never heard from again. Until February 2017, no official suspects were named. In Up and Vanished, host Payne Lindsey investigates the case by re-interviewing persons of interest and examining evidence, all while taking listeners along for the journey. If you decide to join the investigation, you’re in for an evening of stories, questions, and who knows, maybe even some answers.

$30, Sunday, 8 p.m., The Wilbur, 246 Tremont St., Boston, thewilbur.com
