Rabid Bat Found in Back Bay, Fox Runs Flickr Photo of a Different Dead Bat. It turns out that the bat found yesterday on a sidewalk in Back Bay is rabid. Dr. Anita Barry, director of the Infectious Disease Bureau at the Boston Public Health Commission, is advising anyone who had contact with this bat to go and get checked out for rabies. We’re not health experts or anything, but common sense tells us that it’s pretty difficult to tell this bat from any other bat.
