Though Diana Ganz is a Michigan native, it was an easy decision to have her wedding – to Tim Brennan, lead guitarist for the punk band Dropkick Murphys – in the Hub. “We fell in love in Boston,” Diana says. “And we fell in love with Boston – it wouldn’t have been ‘us’ if we had the wedding anywhere else.” Shortly after she moved to Massachusetts, a mutual friend introduced her to Tim at an event in the city. And a few years later, Boston is where Tim proposed: He was performing alongside Bruce Springsteen at a TD Garden show when he popped the question. “I grabbed Diana’s hand and pulled her up onstage with me,” he says. “Bruce talked about how we’re here to build a ‘house of love.’ Then he handed me the mike, and I said, ‘Diana, I love you very much.’ I got down on my knee, and 20,000 people started screaming.” After she said yes, Tim and the Boss (very fittingly) played “So Young and in Love.”

Since the band went into the studio to record shortly after the nuptials, there wasn’t time for a honeymoon, but the newlyweds are planning a getaway in early 2011, perhaps to Hawaii. Tim’s fans, however, can rest easy – he’ll be back in time for the band’s annual gig on St. Patrick’s Day.

For the waterfront reception, Diana wanted the colors to be clean and fresh. “I stayed away from an overly feminine palette,” she says.

Bouquets of hydrangeas decorated the tables.

The menu was all Boston, and included a North End pasta station (a nod to where the couple had their first date).
