Found Art: Out of the Ordinary
Onetime art director and online designer Leah Giberson now creates art of a more tangible sort.
ONETIME ART DIRECTOR and online designer Leah Giberson now creates art of a more tangible sort. She hunts for photographs of suburban scenes — homes, cars, pools — and mounts them on wood panels; then she enhances these images with layers of acrylic paint. The results are hauntingly dreamlike views of everyday life. “The photograph is the starting point,” says the Brookline-based artist. “But the story continues and evolves as you move around the piece.”
Original paintings, $400–$1,200; Prints, $35–$75; available at leahgiberson.etsy.com.
