A Feast for the Ears

We’ve all experienced it before: The food’s great, the service is flawless, but the music’s painfully loud or just plain bad — and there goes the whole evening. We asked the people behind three local restaurants to share some of their go-to tracks to keep diners’ ears as pleased as their palates.

BERGAMOT

“We choose music that isn’t intrusive to our guests’ conversation, and we try to lean toward jazz,” says co-owner Servio Garcia. “We aim for it to feel like you’re in your living room having dinner during a conversation with your friends.”

STRIP-T’S

“We’re not trying to force people to have any kind of experience,” says chef and co-owner Tim Maslow. “We just like the music that we listen to, and that’s what we’re gonna play.”

CUCHI CUCHI

“The concept of Cuchi Cuchi is to reflect an era of the glam ’20s to ’40s, so jazzy music is the focus,” says co-owner Tamara Bourso, “but contemporary and loungey music is required by the younger set.”
