Photos: Legoland Discovery Center Construction Is Underway in Somerville

It’s official: Greater Boston can’t get any cooler. May 23 marks the opening of the Legoland Discovery Center in East Somerville’s Assembly Row, a brand-new indoor activity space filled with all things Lego. Construction began last October, and won’t be completed for another two months, but we were given a sneak preview this week, and the progress is looking good.

The Legoland Discovery Center will include a 4D cinema, Lego reproductions of Boston landmarks, and an interactive laser ride. If you’re still not sold, newly appointed Master Model Builder Ian Coffee, who won the role at a Lego competition at the BPL, will teach classes and create more LEGO masterpieces after the center opens.
