Ever hear the one about a vegetarian and a vegan walking into a bar?

We haven’t, either. But this is no joke: Kosta and John Diamantopoulos, the two brothers behind All-Star Sandwich Bar and All-Star Pizza Bar, both located in Inman Square, love pizza. Kosta handles the business operations, and John is the chef, who has been tirelessly creating a vegan and vegetarian menu for months. They’ve held taste tastes and asked for feedback from the community to make sure that the new menu would resonate with people who don’t eat meat or animal products.

All-Star Pizza Bar was already creating unique pies (duck confit pizza, anyone?), and the soon-to-be-released herbivore-friendly menu holds true to that same philosophy. Rather than just slapping on store-bought tomato sauce with vegan cheese, the brothers created pizzas with complex flavors and noteworthy ingredients that fight the stereotype that vegetarian and vegan food can’t be interesting. Fresh vegetables are the star ingredients, and in the new menu, you’ll find locally harvested tomatoes, rosemary, basil, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, butternut squash, and intriguing options such as almond milk béchamel, roasted sunchokes, jerk roasted jackfruit, picked onions, and Daiya cheese.
