See the work of more than 40 artists this weekend at the spring edition of South Boston Open Studios. While most of the artists and their work will be gathered at The Distillery, painter Nick Ward recommends also visiting King Terminal. “Their street art is definitely worth seeing,” Ward says. For a more structured afternoon, consider joining New Art Love on a guided “South Boston Art Crawl.”

Gatsby Night with the Boston Pops

In case you missed “Out of This World” last week, hosted by Spock—er, Leonard Nimoy, then consider a more down-to-earth musical celebration this weekend with the Pops and special guests The Hot Sardines. “We will transform Symphony Hall into a giant speakeasy, but don’t worry, the alcohol will be legal,” conductor Keith Lockhart explains. Well then, may the green light be with us.

American Craft Beer Fest

Not all beer fests are created equal. Here’s one that’s big enough to meet your boisterous buddies’ need for a party atmosphere, and your beer-snob friends’ need for quality craft brews. The seventh annual event, hosted by BeerAdvocate and Harpoon Brewery, will include more than 640 craft beers from more than 140 American brewers. In other words, three sessions of craft beer bliss.

Locals who usually steer clear of Faneuil Hall might consider swinging by this weekend, when 45 acts including musicians, acrobats, jugglers, and magicians will show off their talents throughout the weekend. Sure, you often have to wait through 10 minutes of setup and hype before a single acrobatic move is performed, but if anticipation isn’t your game, seek out the musicians instead.
