Ian’s Natural Foods Expands Non-GMO Offerings
Thanks to the advocacy of organizations like the Non-GMO Project, the desire for non-genetically engineered food is gaining popularity among consumers.
Ian’s Natural Foods, a Framingham-based producer of allergy-friendly items, has responded by announcing plans to expand Culinary Creations, its recently launched line of gluten-free, non-GMO stuffing and breadcrumb products. Currently, the company offers eight items which have been certified by the Non-GMO Project. Three additional products are pending.
“The natural channel is driving the demand for non-GMO products, and Ian’s supports the transparency it has with its customers,” Chief Executive Officer Chuck Marble says. “Ian’s principles have always been based on trust and taste for consumers with food allergies, food intolerances and sensitivities.”
In addition to expanding its non-GMO offerings, the company also plans to remove GMO ingredients from its existing products. All of Ian’s foods are free of antibiotics, hormones, and artificial preservatives. Most are also made without wheat, gluten, dairy, nut, and soy ingredients.
Ian’s current offerings include organic chicken nuggets, Panko breadcrumbs, allergy-friendly snacks, and more. They are carried locally at several grocery store chains, including Shaw’s, Stop and Shop, and Whole Foods.
