Boston Children’s Theatre Announces 2014-2015 Season
Start ’em young. That’s a method for teaching children good behavior that can be applied in just about any area. An appreciation for theater is no exception.
Lucky for you, the Boston Children’s Theatre is one of the best around.
The award-winning theater announced its 2014-2015 season this week, and the lineup includes not only perennial favorites like The Velveteen Rabbit and Stuart Little, The Musical, but also a more serious production of The Diary of Anne Frank.
“Boston Children’s Theatre takes great pride in providing a unique creative environment for children and their families to experience theater in Boston,” says Burgess Clark, BCT’s executive artistic director, in a press release. “For many students, coming to a BCT show is their first introduction to live theater, and it is our hope that the experience fosters a growing interest in the arts. From musicals and plays that capture a child’s imagination, to seeing beloved storybook characters come to life, to providing a rare glimpse of history seen through the eyes of a young girl, our season promises to entertain, educate, and inspire the multi-generational theatergoers who make up our diverse audience.”
A season subscription for 2014-2015 includes the following:
The Velveteeen Rabbit, December 6-21
Stuart Little, The Musical, January 31-February 8
Pinkalicious, The Musical, February 13-22
The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, March 7-15
The Diary of Anne Frank, April 25-May 2
“BCT is committed to telling truthful stories through the eyes of young people,” Clark says with regards to The Diary of Anne Frank. “[It] tells one of the most important stories in our history from the perspective of a young girl who is living in extremely dark times. Her spirit is an inspiration for all ages and we are honored to bring this powerful play to our audiences.”
