Free Fun Fridays 2015 Schedule – 70 Sites in Boston and Massachusetts Offering Free Admission This Summer
This is the 2015 schedule. Check out the 2016 Free Fun Fridays lineup.
They’re ba-ack! Highland Street Foundation has announced the lineup and schedule for its overwhelmingly popular summer event series, Free Fun Fridays, which offers free admission to the public to dozens of local museums and other cultural venues around Boston and Massachusetts.
Now entering its seventh year, Free Fun Fridays 2015 boasts 10 weeks of free events starting June 26 and ending August 28—that’s 70 fantastic frugal ways for you to spend Fridays this summer, whether that be roaming the halls of the MFA in Boston, exploring Mass MoCA in North Adams, and more. New to the 2015 lineup include the newly opened Edward M. Kennedy Institute (July 10), the House of the Seven Gables in Salem (June 26), and the recently renovated Cape Ann Museum in Gloucester (July 17). The lineup also includes access to notable locations, from the Greenway Carousel to Tanglewood.
The return of Highland Street Foundation’s Free Fun Fridays series furthers the organization’s commitment to public access to the arts. The full program costs well over half a million dollars each summer, but it’s worth it for the hundreds of thousands of individuals who take advantage of free admission. The program offers locals and visitors alike excellent family-friendly ways to indulge in the state’s arts and culture scene.
In addition to Free Fun Fridays, Highland Street is also bringing back Out of the Park, an outdoor event the organization launched last summer. Out of the Park brings a taste of Fenway to Boston Common, where all are welcome to watch an away game on a big screen, while Wally the Green Monster, official Fenway DJ TJ Connelly, and more keep the party going.
This summer’s Out of the Park takes place Sunday, June 28, at 1 p.m., when the Sox take on the Tampa Bay Rays.
