The Street Is Offering Five Free Fitness Classes a Week
Sure, Boston’s free fitness classes get all the press, but suburban-dwellers have a lot to be excited about, too. Not only did they get Massachusetts’ first SoulCycle location (don’t worry urbanites, a Back Bay location opens this fall), but now they can boast a slew of free fitness classes this summer.
Starting Tuesday, June 2, The Street, an upscale shopping plaza situated along Chestnut Hill’s bustling Route 9, is offering five free fitness classes a week. Below, The Street’s lineup for free fitness classes in Chestnut Hill:
What: Spin
When: Saturday June 6 at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Three outdoor spin classes taught by Healthworks instructors. To reserve a bike, sign up at Lululemon in the plaza or call 617-566-6667. Donations to the Newton Food Pantry are strongly encouraged.
What: CRT Fit-Camp
When: Every Tuesday 6 p.m.
Led by TriJake Fitness, CRT stands for “cardio resistance training.” It’s a bootcamp-style class, offering an HIIT bootcamp mix, with cardio and strength training exercises that only use body weight.
What: Freestyle Fitness
When: Every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and every Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
You’ll use ropes, medicine balls, and other accessories to work up a sweat. The classes are led by instructors from Move Fitness in Winthrop.
What: Street Sweat
When: Every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
This Tabata-style class is led by Healthworks instructors and features 20 second intervals of intense exercises, followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated eight times. Be prepared to sweat.
