Watch a Red Sox Game Outside at The Lawn on D’s ‘Sports Sundays’
Update, June 27, 11 a.m.: This event has been canceled due to rain.
The Lawn on D is a great place—you know, if you’re into glowing swings, psychedelic inflatable mazes, 70-foot snow slopes, 3D light projections, and Passion Pit. This Sunday, you’ll be able to use the 2.7-acre Seaport space for yet another fun activity: watching a little baseball at the 2.7-acre Seaport space.
The Lawn on D has teamed up with Boston Red Sox broadcast partner WEEI for “Sports Sundays.” This week’s installment, from noon to 4 p.m., will feature a Wiffle ball tournament and a pitch speed machine. Wally the Green Monster will be around for pictures, and the Sox game—a 1:30 p.m. matinee against the Tampa Bay Rays—will be shown on large screens behind the tent bar.
Food trucks RCB Ice Cream, Capriotti’s, and Rock N Refuel will be there as well.
The Lawn on D isn’t the only place you can watch the game with like-finded fans. Highland Street Foundation will also screen Sunday’s game as part of its “Out of the Park” event on the Common, with hot dog vendors, the Hot Tamales Brass Band, balloon artists, face-painters, and caricaturists. Wally, ever the monster about town, will be there, too.
