Big Changes Are Happening at Jam’n 94.5 Morning Show
Jam’n 94.5, Boston’s most popular hip-hop station, is shaking up its morning drive time lineup.
Longtime Jam’n mainstay Ramiro Torres is out as the station’s morning host after failing to come to an agreement with the station over his contract. His morning co-anchor, Santi DeOleo, is hitting the bricks too as a result of his departure.
The Boston Herald reported that Torres is done at WJMN because he told the station’s ownership that he was not interested in signing a contract extension before his current one expires. iHeartMedia was clearly not impressed with the move so they sent him packing.
In a statement the station said that they appreciated his time at the station and that he’ll “always be a member of the Jam’n family.”
Torres and DeOleo will be replaced by Framingham native and former Kiss 108 fill-in jock Frankie Vinci and current 94.5er and Real World alum Ashlee Feldman. “The Jam’n Morning Show with Frankie & Ashlee” starts airing on Monday. Vinci is coming back to Boston from an iHeartMedia station in San Diego.

Being a Boston kid and Jam’n fan growing up, I know Frankie understands this city, our music and the lifestyle of the Jam’n listener. Pair that with Ashlee Feldman’s deep connection with the Jam’n audience and you have a show that will be fun, edgy and will give young Boston a real voice on the radio,” said Dylan Sprague, Senior Vice President of Programming in a statement.
No word on whether Torres will reunite with his old sidekick Pebbles at 96.9 WBQT.
Listeners of the station were not happy with this move and immediately took to social media to express their displeasure with station management with the hashtag #SaveJamn945. The effort does not appear to have much traction though as a Facebook page calling for the return of Torres has just 39 likes.
Jam’n has been a mainstay atop the Boston radio ratings for years, consistently placing in the top five with its target demographics.
