Here’s Your MixFest 2015 Lineup
Mix 104.1 has announced the lineup for MixFest, its annual fall concert.
For more than two decades, the radio station has been bringing in big acts, including Backstreet Boys, Of Monsters and Men, Gavin DeGraw, and Jason Mraz, for an afternoon of performances on the Esplanade—completely free of charge. A staple of the fall in Boston and a true crowd pleaser (see: an elated fan crying tears of joy over last year’s headliner Phillip Phillips), it draws thousands of attendees every year.
Here’s your lineup for MixFest 2015:
Rob Thomas
He’s the former frontman of Matchbox Twenty. You probably know him best for co-writing and providing vocals for Santana’s triple-platinum hit “Smooth” or his 2005 solo hit “Lonely No More.”
Third Eye Blind
A San Francisco-based rock band best known for their ’90s hit “Semi-Charmed Life.”
Rachel Platten
This Massachusetts native is currently on tour with MixFest alumni Colbie Caillat and Christina Perri.
Vance Joy
This Australian crooner stole our hearts with “Riptide.” He performed at Boston Calling in May.
Andy Grammer
The soul-pop singer performed at MixFest in 2012. He released a new album last year.
Mix 104.1 is also bringing back its “15 Seconds of Fame” contest, giving local acts an opportunity to open this year’s show.
MixFest 2015 will take place on Saturday, September 19, rain or shine, at the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade. Gates will open at noon, and the music will start at about 2 p.m.
