New Balance Is Opening Its New World Headquarters in Brighton

New Balance has been planning to open its new world headquarters in Brighton since 2013, and now the first part of the $500 million project is finally complete.
When we reported on the development in 2013, New Balance’s plans for the 15-acre complex included a commuter rail station, office space, basketball courts, a hockey rink, a track and field facility, and a 175-room boutique hotel, in addition to the footwear and athletic apparel company’s own headquarters.
Now that the 250,000-square-foot headquarters is finished, it will reportedly also include a practice and training facility for the Bruins, space for storefronts and restaurants, and 1.4 acres of green space. It will also be home to Harvard Business School’s publishing house. The Bruins facility, as well as the commuter rail stop—which is being paid for by New Balance and will serve the Worcester line—are set to open next year.
To celebrate the facility’s opening, New Balance’s in-house charity, The New Balance Foundation, gave Brighton’s West End Boys & Girls Club a $3 million donation.
