After wildly successful collaborations with Del’s Lemonade and Autocrat Coffee Syrup, Narragansett has teamed up with another beloved Rhode Island staple: Allie’s Donuts.

Founded in 1968 by Frederick Alvin “Allie” Briggs, Allie’s Donuts are renowned across all 1,212 square-miles of the Ocean State for their old-fashioned double chocolate donuts. For the third installment of its “Hi-Neighbor! Mash-up” seasonal series, Narragansett has crafted a double chocolate porter, brewed with chocolate malt, dark crystal malt, and cocoa nibs.

Allie’s Double Chocolate Porter, weighing in at 5.5% ABV and 15 IBUs, will be available throughout New England this winter in six-packs of tallboys through the winter and comes in six packs of 16-ounce tallboy cans.

“Whether it’s a lazy Saturday morning tradition, a tasty birthday celebration, or just a pick-me-up on a bad day, Allie’s old fashioned donuts have filled a special place in Rhode Islanders’ hearts for nearly 50 years,” Narragansett president Mark Hellendrung said in a release. “We wanted to combine every local’s favorite pastry with our classic Porter to give people an authentic taste of two Ocean State staples. No matter the occasion, we hope Narragansett Allie’s Double Chocolate Porter evokes that same blissful feeling you get when biting into a freshly baked Allie’s donut.”

To celebrate, Narragansett will host a release party at Oak Hill Tavern in North Kingstown, Rhode Island from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on October 1, a short distance from Allie’s Donuts. Both the donuts and the beer they inspired will be on-hand for the festivities.
