The Boston Calling Music Festival took over City Hall Plaza for its final installment of 2015 on September 25-27.
From Walk the Moon to Alabama Shakes, this year’s fall lineup featured a stacked list of bands who definitely brought their A-games over the weekend. In addition to all of the great music, a supermoon lunar eclipse was also on hand to help send off the three-day event in style.

Hozier Covered Ariana Grande’s “Problem”
While Mark Wahlberg was hanging out with Pope Francis in Philadelphia, Hozier took fans to church at Boston Calling on Sunday.
In addition to playing his smash hit, the Irish singer and songwriter performed an amazing cover of Ariana Grande’s “Problem.” Luckily, this rendition did not feature an appearance by Iggy Azalea.

Walk the Moon Goes Lion King
The indie rock band kicked off their set on Saturday with a throwback jam as they walked on stage to the famous Lion King tune “The Circle of Life.” Walk the Moon definitely won nostalgia points for this one.

Father John Misty Sang into a Fan’s Phone
The folk star interacted with the crowd on a number of occasions during his set on Saturday and even sang into a fan’s phone at point during the afternoon.
Not going to lie, Father John Misty looks a lot like Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead, although he probably has the better singing voice, as you can tell from the Instagram post below.
MisterWives Performed “Can’t Feel My Face,” “P.Y.T.”
The indie pop band stole the show on Sunday with a pair of great covers. Not only did they get the crowd grooving with their version of The Weeknd’s “I Can’t Feel My Face,” but the band also did a pretty awesome cover of the Michael Jackson classic “P.Y.T.”

Alabama Shakes Gives “Sunfish” Guy a Shoutout While Playing Under a “Blood Moon”
The biggest highlight of the weekend was, of course, headliner Alabama Shakes, who played their set on Sunday night under a glowing “blood moon.”

The band also won some brownie points with the Boston crowd by giving a shoutout to the hilarious viral video of a Boston bro freaking out over a “sunfish.”
“This one is for Jay—sweet baby Jay,” said Brittany Howard, lead singer for Alabama Shakes.
