Bernie Sanders finally got the Saturday Night Live treatment over the weekend and it was pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Seinfeld creator and Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David took on the mantle of the presidential hopeful during the the comedy show’s cold open, which spoofed the recent Democratic debate. David’s impersonation was so on the mark that it even impressed Sanders himself.

“I think we’ll use Larry at our next rally. He does better than I do,” Sanders said on ABC’s This Week.

During the SNL appearance, David poked fun at many of the Vermont senator’s quirks and recent remarks.

Between calling out bankers and reliving Sanders’ rave against the media’s obsession with Hillary Clinton’s email scandal, the comedian also took a stab at the candidate’s stance against using Super PACs to fund his campaign.

“I’m the only candidate up here who’s not a billionaire. I don’t have a Super PAC, I don’t even have a backpack,” David said while impersonating Sanders. “I carry my stuff around loose in my arms like a professor between classes. I own one pair of underwear—that’s it.”

Sanders responded to the joke about his lack of undergarments while out on the campaign trail in Iowa on Sunday. He jokingly told NBC News that he has an “ample supply of underwear.”

“Last week, I bought my second pair of underwear,” Sanders said. “Please don’t write it down. That was a joke.”

In case you were wondering (although we’re not sure why you would), the presidential hopeful admitted to Ellen DeGeneres last week that he’s a briefs guy. Glad people are asking him the tough questions.
