Kids’ Fitness Program BOKS Is Partnering with the Boston Bruins Foundation
Thanks to a new partnership, Reebok’s before-school fitness program BOKS may soon be coming to your child’s classroom.
BOKS, which stands for Build Our Kids’ Success, has announced that it’s teaming up with The Boston Bruins Foundation, the kids’ charitable organization associated with the Bruins. The Foundation is awarding BOKS $25,000 in funding, which a spokesperson from the fitness group says will allow the program to expand to five new schools in the Greater Boston area within two years.
News of the Bruins partnership, which will be formally unveiled Wednesday afternoon at a ceremony with Mayor Marty Walsh, comes just a few days after BOKS announced that Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts will fund four new BOKS schools in Springfield.
The free kids’ fitness program, which currently operates in more than 1,200 schools across six countries and was founded by Natick resident Kathleen Tullie, gets students moving and teaches them about fitness and nutrition, all before the first bell rings.
