Nick Offerman brought more than a few treats with him for his appearance on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night.

The actor, who’s kicking off his A Confederacy of Dunces run in Boston on Wednesday, shared his meat-filled diet for his upcoming play with the late-night host.

“I’m playing a very fat man in this play,” Offerman joked. “So to put on the weight, I have a regimen going of some of my favorite, fatty meats and I thought your viewers could work them into their own fall schedule.”

The former Parks and Recreation star said he has a three-part plan for getting into the right shape to play his character Ignatius J. Reilly. The impressive spread included some bratwurst and a turducken, which he described as a “chicken carcass inserted into a duck carcass which is then shoved inside a turkey.”

Always the meat connoisseur, Offerman paired each dish with a hefty glass of single malt scotch. Bottoms up.

Fallon also had a special bread infused kielbasa dish created and, of course, he shared it Lady and the Tramp-style with the actor.
