Mondays just got a little brighter: Brass Union is turning up the surround sound and putting some fun flicks on the big screen, with inspired treats from chef Jonathan Kopacz and beverage director Paulo Pereira.

Movie Mondays, a weekly series, debuts tonight with a classic tale of teenage angst, adult responsibility, and family: Uncle Buck.

The 1989 movie is one of the late John Candy’s best roles, and tonight’s featured cocktail is named in honor of the comedic lead. The John Candied Applejack is a blend of bourbon, applejack, lemon, bitters, and cider. To nosh, a special snack pays homage to both the reason Uncle Buck is in charge of his wily nieces and nephew in the first place, and a meal he makes the kids: Pancakes. The Heart Stopper is skewered bacon, dipped in pancake batter and deep fried.

The staff is rearranging the leather couches in Brass Union’s back lounge for optimal viewing, and complimentary popcorn is also on the menu.

The film series continues on Mondays through December 28. The films are subject to change based on availability, so check Facebook for the most updated screenings.
