Comedian Hannibal Buress Is Coming to MIT

Members of the MIT community are in for a treat as comedian Hannibal Buress is set to stop by the university’s campus next month.

The Broad City star will be performing at the Kresge Auditorium in Cambridge on Friday, February 26 at 7 p.m.

Sponsored by the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, the event is unfortunately only open to MIT students, faculty, and staff. Tickets are being given away for free through a lottery which is open until Wednesday, February 17.

Even though it’s been over a year since his joke about Bill Cosby’s sexual assault allegations went viral, Buress is still getting a lot of attention for bringing attention to the scandal. Don’t expect him to bring up the joke during his set at MIT, though.

“I do a lot of other s–t,” Buress recently told reporters during a press tour for his upcoming special. “It’s weird that it happened like that. I was calling a bunch of other comedians rapists and that was the only one people took seriously.”

He added, “That’s just one joke people took and really ran with it.”

In addition to the MIT gig, Buress has a busy 2016 ahead of him.

Following the debut of his Netflix special Comedy Camisado in February, Buress will be lending his voice to the animated comedy The Secret Life of Pets, which hits theaters in July and also stars Louis C.K. and Massachusetts native Jenny Slate.
