JoJo Brought Down the House on Late Night with Seth Meyers
Massachusetts bred singer Joanna “JoJo” Levesque proved she’s back and better than ever on Thursday’s episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers.
After taking over the airwaves with hits like “Too Little Too Late,” the former teen pop star has been relatively quiet over the years due to a lengthy and bitter lawsuit with her old label Blackground Records.
Thankfully, JoJo has finally been able to get back into the spotlight after signing a new deal with Atlantic Records. She recently told GQ that it was a tough decision to sign with another label, but she couldn’t resist the chance to make more music.
“I started off as a pop artist, I had a lot of success in my teenage years, and I wanted to play in the big league again,” JoJo said. “I love music more than I dislike the industry, but I do dislike the industry.”
The singer has definitely grown up a lot, both as a person and as an artist.
Her new single “Save My Soul,” which she performed on Late Night, is a much more mature ballad than her previous work, which makes us believe that the local star is poised for a very big comeback when her new album drops.
